Alimentec 2016. International food fair in Bogotá, Colombia.

This food trade fair is the gateway to Latin American and Caribbean markets. These alimentary markets are experiencing rapid growth; thus, this event is a great opportunity for any food and beverage company. Alimentec 2016 will take place in June, in Bogotá, Colombia, a strategic hub to the Andean Region, the Caribbean and all Latin America. This country offers a lot of business opportunities. The population (48 million inhabitants) is growing and each year it has a higher prosperity level.

In 2014 Alimentec food fair had great results. For instance it had 359 exhibitors from 29 countries, 21.000 square metres, 7 pavilions, a high level of satisfaction among all the exhibitors (70% will participate in Alimentec 2016) and 28.561 visitors from 22 countries. The top 10 foreign visiting countries were Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Spain, United States of America and Venezuela; the most common interests among the visitors were find new products, find a distributor, import and export new products, talk with international delegations and buy new machinery for food sector.

There are different visitor profiles interested in Alimentec fair. In 2014, most attendees were catering companies, importers and distributors, hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs, supermarkets, grocery and convenience stores, wholesalers and traders, media, government and associations, etc.

This is the ninth Alimentec food fair and is powered by Anuga, probably the most important food and beverage trade fair in the world.
