100% Orange Fruit Concentrate

Our LCOE521 100% Orange Fruit Concentrate is a high-quality, natural concentrate that captures the essence of the entire orange. Created from premium Spanish oranges, this concentrate utilizes every part of the fruit to deliver a robust, full-bodied flavor and aroma. The process maximizes the orange’s unique qualities, ensuring that the final product retains the authentic taste and nutritional benefits of freshly squeezed juice.

A Whole-Orange Extraction Process for 100% Pure Fruit Concentrate

The unique extraction process combines all essential parts of the orange, as shown in the image, focusing on the flavedo, albedo, and endocarp. This meticulous approach allows each component of the fruit to contribute to the concentrate’s complex flavor, aroma, and texture.

Flavedo (Flavors & Essential Oils)

The flavedo, the colorful outer peel, contains high concentrations of essential oils that impart a fresh and intense citrus aroma. These essential oils add complexity to the concentrate by introducing a slightly bitter, zesty note that balances the natural sweetness of the fruit. Extracting the flavedo is a delicate process, as it requires precision to capture only the aromatic oils without the bitterness of the underlying layers. Including the flavedo enhances the concentrate’s aromatic profile, making it vibrant and appealing for a range of applications where freshness is key.

  1. Albedo (Citrus Fiber)

Beneath the flavedo lies the albedo, a spongy, white layer rich in natural citrus fiber. This fiber plays a crucial role in giving the concentrate its characteristic “cloudy” appearance, which reflects its unfiltered, authentic nature. The albedo also adds body to the product, resulting in a thicker mouthfeel that mimics the experience of fresh, pulpy juice. By retaining the natural fiber from the albedo, the LCOE521 concentrate provides a wholesome, full-bodied texture, enhancing the sensory experience. Additionally, the dietary fiber in the albedo adds nutritional value, supporting digestive health and making this concentrate not only flavorful but also beneficial for well-being.

  1. Endocarp (Juice & Pulp Cells)

The endocarp is the innermost part of the orange, where the juice and pulp cells reside. This component is the heart of the fruit, containing the bulk of its natural sugars and acids, which give the concentrate its primary flavor. The endocarp contributes the refreshing, sweet, and slightly tangy notes that are essential to a quality orange juice concentrate. Extracting the juice and pulp cells from the endocarp ensures that the final product captures the essence of the orange, providing a clean, vibrant taste with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. This part also enhances the natural appearance of the concentrate, giving it the body and opacity typical of freshly squeezed juice.

Combining and Concentrating the Pure Orange Fruit

After each part of the orange is extracted, the flavedo, albedo, and endocarp are combined to create a 100% Orange Fruit mixture. This mixture is then concentrated using an evaporator. The evaporation process is carefully controlled to remove only the excess water, ensuring that the rich flavor, natural sugars, and essential nutrients are retained in the final product. The concentration process intensifies the orange’s natural characteristics, resulting in a product with a Brix level of 64.0 – 66.0, which indicates a high concentration of natural sweetness, and an acidity range of 3.3 – 3.75, providing a refreshing tang that balances the sweetness.

Advantages of the Whole-Fruit Approach

By using every part of the orange, the LCOE521 concentrate offers a depth of flavor that goes beyond standard juice concentrates. The inclusion of essential oils from the flavedo, fiber from the albedo, and juice from the endocarp results in a product with an authentic, unfiltered taste and texture. This whole-fruit approach not only preserves the nutritional value of the orange but also enhances the sensory qualities, creating a concentrate that is rich, full-bodied, and truly reflective of fresh orange juice.
